Acer Unveils W4 Acer Windows Phone Device |
We had heard rumors and expected some new Windows Phone devices at the Mango event last week, however, that rumor never materialized. This didn't stop Acer, which is a new Windows Phone maker, to unveil their upcoming device at Computex this week. The new device was spotted at computex and some images were captured by a Chinese blog, zol.com.cn.
The Acer W4 will be the first device from Acer and has Mango pre-loaded, so I don't think we will be seeing this device until fall, around the release of Mango. The W4 is a slick-looking device with specs similar to what is currently in the market for Windows Phone. The specs are:
- 3.6-inch WVGA
- Screen Resolution: 480×800
- 5mp Camera with auto-focus
- HSPA 850/1900 or 900/2100 /GSM quad band 850/900/ 1800/ 1900 MHz Support
- Qualcomm MSM8255 running at 1GHz
- Wifi, Bluetooth 2.1
- DLNA Support (DMC)
- Windows Phone Mango
- 8GB Storage
The phone looks really nice, but I'm hoping for manufacturers to really push some of the specs for future Windows Phone devices and also some low-end devices, which would appeal to some users.
