Nielsen: Smartphone OS marketshare growth stagnates |
For the first time, Nielsen says that Smartphone OS marketshare has stopped changing, and Android, iOS and BlackBerry all held ground from March until April. The report shows Android, iOS and webOS each dropping a percentage point during the period, to 36%, 26% and 2% respectively. RIM was actually up a point to 23%, while Windows and Symbian held their ground at 10% and 2%.
Also, the results showed that Android users consume more data than their competition, averaging 582MB of data per user per month. In second place is iOS at 492MB, followed by webOS with 448MB, Windows Phone at 317MB and BlackBerry at 127MB.
