Back when the App Store was a new and shiny invention, I remember being able to browse the entire contents of the store within the space of an hour at most. These days however, it would take so long to browse the store that more apps would have been added by the time anyone got to the end. While we at 148apps can help iOS owners keep up to date with all the best and most interesting apps out there, even we can miss out on a hidden gem or forgotten bargain. This is precisely where AppZapp enters the picture.
AppZapp promises to be the Bargain Guide for the App Store and a quick glance will confirm that for all. AppZapp keeps track of all the price drops going on at any one time then lists them in appropriately organised lists for easy consultation.
The Live Stream is of particular interest offering a whole bunch of apps that have had their price adjusted. The difference here is that the Stream keeps track of what other users of AppZapp have been downloading at the current time forming an ideal way of seeing exactly what’s popular at any given time. The Top List offers a similar facility along with the option to view the App Store charts easily without having to delve into the App Store app. Sales and Now Free sections supply apps in order of when the price dropped. There’s even an AppZapp news section that informs users of the best apps out there that have recently gone down in price.
AppZapp has the potential to save its users a heck of a lot of money which is pretty impressive stuff for such an inexpensive app. It’s free for iPhone users while a mere $0.99 for a HD iPad version. Users can choose to pay $1.99 to remove ads if they so wish. There’s also the option to pay $0.99 for a Push Service Notification system.
However readers of 148apps don’t have to worry about this as we have an exclusive code to gain that for free! All users have to do is go to Settings and Coupon Code then simply enter 148apps to gain the service for free!
Surely a perfect reason to give AppZapp a try, right?

I really enjoy this app and the changes made from the traditional game of Sudoku to make it easier and more enjoyable for kids as early as four years, as well as beyond in the more difficult sections. This application is part of the "Lola" series of apps starring lovable panda Lola, who keeps a watchful eye on the users, adding bits of narration about her love of fruit as well as encouraging the players throughout these games.
:: IT'S A BLAST!
iBlast Moki 2 is the physics puzzler grown up. Unlike other physics puzzlers that just require objects and/or trucks to be launched at structures, iBlast Moki 2 requires a bit more thought. The goal of each level is to get all the Mokis, who sometimes wear silly little hats for maximum adorableness, into the big portal at the end of each level. How is this accomplished? By using bombs, of course! But not just plain old bombs, of course; there are also bombs for speeding up the Mokis on the ground, making the ground bouncy, and even glue for sticking objects together. There’s also objects like balloons, ropes, and steel girders for connecting objects together and building structures for the Mokis and other obstacles in the levels to navigate through. Timing also becomes a key, as some levels are set up to have objects in the environment fall at certain times, or to require a certain bomb to be used at a certain time; thankfully, each bomb has a delay timer that can be set up to go off after a certain time.
The more complex design of iBlast Moki 2 means that many of the solutions to the game can be very difficult to even start to try and figure out, and while solutions are available to view, they are limited by the number of coins that the player has, and it appears as if the only way to get them is to complete worlds. iBlast Moki 2 really needs a fast forward feature, as testing out slightly improved solutions can become quite time-consuming in the later, more complex levels. The HD version of the game really could use cross-platform waves; this is a feature not seen in a lot of games, but it does exist, and would be fantastic for this game! There is a way to synchronize solutions between platforms, but no actual progress synchronization.
There’s a lot to take in online isn’t there? Every day more and more information, whether it be useful new Wikipedia entries or funny and entertaining videos, emerges on the internet. Things can get a little overwhelming. As is fortunately the way, there’s an app to help tame it all. At least on the video side of things.
:: HANDY
TextGrabber is a handy little app that can help users get text from a business card or flyer or poster onto their iOS device without having to type it all in by hand. It does this through OCR (optical character recognition) software that is built into the app. By taking a photo of the text they want to capture, users can have TextGrabber analyze the photo and pull out any text it finds, converting it to digital text. Once the text from the photo is captured and converted to digital text, the user can do anything with it that they could do with any normal digital text. Email, text, copy and paste, or even just save for later.
I must admit, the existence of Localmind is something I wasn’t even aware of until recently. Now I’m wondering why that is, since it’s a rather ingenious app. Utilizing an iOS device’s GPS in order to let users ask and answer questions about various destinations in their area seems like the kind of thing that’s both ahead of its time and has been a long time coming. It’s odd that it’s taken so long, I know.
Learning to pound out rhythms on a full, professional drum kit would be a daunting task for most people and it can take years of hard practice to master. Table drumming, however — much like its close musical cousin, the air guitar — is a much more accessible option for the every day music lover. Everyone has probably caught themselves idly drumming away on their desk or table top with their fingers or a pen from time to time. TableDrum takes that tapping and transforms it into something that wouldn’t be out of place on the next chart topping single on the radio.
Translating finger taps into percussive sounds might sound amazing enough to merit some praise, but this app goes one step farther. Not only does the app register the separate and distinct tapping sounds and translate them into the sounds of a real drum kit, it also registers the intensity of the sound and makes the corresponding drum sound equally loud or soft. This is all done dynamically and with little to no noticeable latency. Users will need to make sure and choose several very different sounding taps though because if the tapping sounds mapped to each instrument are too similar it can result in some inadvertent errors.
