To Do lists aren’t always the most interesting of things to look at. I should know considering I spend my life consulting them through a variety of different apps. Clearly the makers of Clockonizer appreciate that, too, which is why they’ve decided to mix things up a bit by offering a more interesting way of adding tasks.

This is done by manipulating the clock dial that provides the focus of the app. Users can draw events onto the dial directly rather than just enter the data separately. It is possible to add tasks by entering the information in a more conventional manner but it’s immensely more satisfying to use the clock interface. In some ways, it also makes it much easier to sense just how much time is needed at a glance. It does take a little while to figure out exactly how to enter information in such a way and I’d have appreciated the tutorial being more obviously located. Once mastered though, it’s a pretty neat interface.

Such functionality would be no use if the rest of the app was lacking but fortunately Clockonizer has got it covered. It’s possible to divide up tasks depending on what they relate to, such as work or personal matters, as well as assign a color for each type of job. Reminders can also be arranged and contacts can be attached to events along with notes.

Much of how useful Clockonizer is comes down to how the individual user’s brain works. For those whose brains work better with visual/spatial information, this app will fill a much needed gap that other more text orientated apps just doesn’t cover. Ultimately it does much the same as other To Do apps but displays it in an unique way that makes it that bit more special and memorable.
