In Warp Dash players pilot speedy ships through a futuristic obstacle course. The point of the game is to pilot the craft as far as possible through a randomly generated grid of huge shiny blocks and bright lights and to score as many points as possible in the process. Players control their ship by tilting their device back and forth to make the ship veer left or right. While trying to avoid obstacles, players earn extra points by collecting triangles that are placed around the grid and delivering them to warp gates that are also placed around the grid. Extra points for triangles are only rewarded if they are delivered to a warp gate. At the same time, the warp gate launches the craft into the air and over any obstacles for a quick distance boost.

The gameplay is very simple and uncomplicated, which makes it a great game for mobile platforms. Players can get in a few quick games almost any time the mood strikes them. There are three difficulty levels in Warp Dash. The only discernible different from one difficulty level to the next is the speed at which the ship travels and the ship’s maneuverability. However, the developer has made the strange choice to only include the beginner and intermediate difficulty levels with purchase of the app, with the expert difficulty level needing to be unlocked via in-app purchase for $0.99.

The game controls very well and though tilt controls are notorious for limiting fine control, there seems to be enough sensitivity built into the controls that players can navigate obstacles with ease. Unfortunately, there is no way for players to adjust the tilt sensitivity at all, so they’ll need to adjust to the games sensitivity settings instead.

Warp Dash is a gorgeous game with high fidelity graphics that run smoothly even during fast gameplay. The game’s techno music fits the tone perfectly and even adapts to what is happening in the game. This is a simple game, to be sure, but it is focused and lots of fun to play which makes it a game worth playing.
