When I first saw Bullet Time in the App Store, I was thinking that it was going to be a western-themed shooter. From the first time I launched the game, I quickly found that it was much more than that. It is in fact a post-apocalyptical adventure that follows the story of John Irish and his struggles to seek revenge against the mutants that now inhabit his world. This modern cowboy meets mutants third-person shooter has many elements that make the game very appealing.

The main character of the game is John Irish. He has lost everything and now wants to seek his revenge against the creatures that have destroyed his world. Players guide him through what is left of his town, killing any mutant in sight. There are various types of mutants that run around, some of which are harder to take down than others. Along the way players can also complete mini challenges that help to gain points and experience. There are only two campaigns available at the moment, but more are on the way. There is also a multiplayer option that allows players to team up with friends to complete the campaigns together over Wifi or 3G.

I really enjoyed the controls of this game. The on-screen joysticks were very easy to use and anyone who has played any type of shooter on iOS will be able to play comfortably. I think the graphics and sound combine to create a nice 3D, post-apocalyptical environment.

One thing that I didn't like was that the game seemed a little repetitive. The gameplay basically consists of walking around, getting ambushed by mutants, eliminating them and repeating the process. Fortunately the quests and extra objectives help to break up the monotony a little bit.

Bullet Time is a very well-made game that has many positive attributes. Best thing about it is it's FREE! After playing it I was really surprised that it did not cost at least $0.99. There are in-app purchases available that allow players to buy more crystals that can be used to buy new weapons and other items. However I didn't see the need to purchase any crystals. Players should be able to progress in the game well enough without needing extra items. I was very impressed with the game, and given that it's free and a universal app, I would definitely recommend it.
