Mama Chicken's chicks have gone missing! She is devastated and now she must travel far and wide to find all her babies and bring them back home. This is the premise of the new game, Chicken Rescue from Ayopa Games. Players must carefully guide Mama Chicken through 24 different boards in order to find and safely return all her chicks back to the coop.

The story and gameplay of Chicken Rescue are simple enough. In many cases, it is almost too simple and gets to be a little repetitive. Each level takes place on a floating board that is hovering above what looks to be an ocean. Using the gyroscope or an on-screen joystick, players guide Mama Chicken around each board in search of her lost chicks. Along they way she must collect flowers that are strewn about along with special items that are hidden in trees, bushes, and barrels. Collecting flowers and special items will ultimately improve players' scores. The levels start off pretty simple but increase in difficulty once the boards get more treacherous, and especially as more items get in the way of Mama's path, such as fences and big, pink pigs. The pigs seem nice enough and won’t deliberately attack, but watch out as once simple encounter with them can bounce Mama right off the board.

The controls of this game are a bit wonky in my opinion. I found the on-screen joystick to be easier to use than the gyroscope. I had a hard time getting Mama Chicken to move around with precision using the gyroscope but there may be players out there who prefer this method to the joystick. I think the controls do need a little work overall since they can be a bit touchy and erratic. I also think that they game is very short. With only 24 levels, the game can be completed relatively quickly. The later levels do get more challenging and require more time to conquer, but all things considered this is a very short game.

My overall impressions of Chicken Rescue are that it needs some recuing itself. I did not find it to be as entertaining as I would have hoped. The challenge of the gameplay was also lacking, even though it is pretty difficult to get three stars on each level. It may be fun for younger users, but for the average iOS gamer I don't think it will provide adequate levels of entertainment and difficulty. The game is on sale right now for $0.99 cents and I don't think it would be worth much more than that once the initial launch sale is over.
