Watee is a strange amorphous blob and he is your pet. Watee is apparently also a very clean pet and likes to bathe frequently. In order to provide water for their pet’s cleanly habit, players must trap as much falling water as they can in a bowl for Watee to use.

The game Watee is based on fluid physics and the gameplay centers on working with these fluid physics and using the environment and different items in each level to guide water from a valve at the top of the screen down to the bowl at the bottom of the screen. The game’s levels are varied in their layouts and might include several different hazards or obstacles. For example, there are heating elements that will turn any water that touches them into steam that rises out of the level ineffectively. Sometimes these obstacles will counteract each other. For instance, a cooler will turn steam back into water and the water will fall to the ground again.

Many of Watee’s levels also include items that can be moved and rotated to help guide the water down to the bowl. Using these items will be essential in finding the solution to each level. As water begins filling the bowl, are percentage counts off how close the player is to filling the bowl. When the counter reaches one hundred percent, the level is complete. There is only a limited amount of water available in each level so players need to be clever about how they place their items in each level.

Ultimately, physics games live and die by the dependability of their physics. If the physics play out in bizarre, unpredictable ways it makes it very difficult to complete levels or even enjoy the game. The fluid physics in Watee are not readily recognizable as a passable water simulation, but they are consistent and predictable. The “water” in this game acts more like thousands of tiny, cascading marbles but the effect is decidedly fluid-like and it plays out well in the game. Anyone looking for a new physics game to have a good time experimenting with will enjoy the challenge here.
